Okay so after reading Nancy's tag post I just had to write a little something. It made me think of everyone I am grateful for. And maybe I'm a little early on my thanking seeing how Thanksgiving is still about a month away, but oh well. (And I'm sorry this is so long, but I felt an urge to do this)
I want to start out by thanking my ancestors (I know they won't read this but still for my posterity). All the hard work and dedication and trials and persecutions you might have went through you still never let it stop you from your joys and doing exactly what you wanted, to leave such a legacy for us. You all are awesome examples to me and your stories and legacies help to push me to be more like you.
My grandparents. There have honestly been no better grandparents than Grandpa and Grandma Mickelsen!! I love my Grandpa and Grandma Haglund, but I have always felt closer to my dad's parents than my mom's. This is for both sets though I love how you always love us and how you are always excited to see us. I know I am to see you. And Grandma Mick I love your stories too. They have all been great examples to me.
My parents. For bringing me into this world and teaching me all that you could. For doing the best you knew how. For sticking things through no matter how screwed up our family feels. You've taught me a lot!
Nancy. My lifelong best friend!! There just aren't enough words to express everything you have done for me. The examples, the talks, the listening, the relating (sad that there is so much... you know what I mean), the fun, the past, the trips, the sleepovers, the strength you possess, the goodness, etc. Like i said there just aren't enough words. You are amazing! And you continue to be a great example to me without even knowing it. Thank you!!
Stubby. The man who is a second dad to me. Provided me with love, comfort, strength, and perseverance by example. His example and everything he has gone through..... I just feel honored that he thinks of me as his adoptive daughter!!
Dawnanna. Now here is a woman worthy of ever joy and happiness. For her there are no words either! She was a huge strength to me when my mom had cancer. She was there for me silently but still there. I felt so much love radiant from her when she was around. She is just amazing too!!! (It's too bad she could only have one child... she is an awesome mother and grandma (or would be))
PJ! My aunt Paula!!! So much to say about her. She has strength, compassion, trust, loyalty, Faith, and I could go on and on... She has been through a lot. Learned a lot. Example for about anything. She is a wonderful mother and wife. And the best friend a person could have.
Matt. He has always been a great friend. He was a best friend at a great time for me. He knew me better than anyone and therefore knew what I was thinking or feeling and wanted me to get it out rather than stew on it. He'd listen and tell me how it was or is. He's a hard worker and smart though he doesn't believe it. He has so much inner strength and sensibility (i guess though still not the right word). I hope one day he realizes it! He really is a great person.
Mariah. Another best friend that I can never forget! You are another one where words are not enough! You have been an awesome example. A beautiful and smart woman who was always beyond her age. You have so much love for everyone and it shows. You would do anything for anyone. You are so amazing!!
Yvonne. Wow! A wonderful mother, friend, and would be wife! You cannot possibly know how much strength you have for everyone (if that were possible). You only want the best of happiness for everyone. You are so awesome and I miss not going to your house and talking with you! You are a great role model!
Mike. He is a wonderful father and husband. I have my issues. But I cannot deny that he is a good person. He helps so many people. He has strength beyond words. He's patient and trusting and talks sense into me. He loves me unconditionally. Though I don't tell him often enough how grateful I am to him. So Thank you Honey for all you do for us!
Well this is getting long so I'll wrap up. There are so many people who have done so many things in my life.Been great examples or strengths to me in times of need whether I knew it or not. President Johnson (or Bishop as I knew you), President Sperry, Brother Williams, Carol Lee, Dalene, Joan, Ginger, Sherry, Christine, LaVon and Marianne, Britney, Jamie, Julie, Jenna, Mary, Maria, Jennifer, The Kjar's, Doris, Shanon and her family, Sammi (J.or P. now), Lindsey, Trisha, Aunt Linda, Aunt Cindy, Aunt Kris and Uncle Kent, Uncle Dennis, Uncle Brent, Aunt Melissa, Aunt Tracie, Jim and Anne (again no words to describe them or their love, great example, and kindness and all they have done for our family. All of my aunts and uncles for all they do for us), so many of my cousins...Jenna, kara, Josh, Cody, Ira, Casey, Kandace, Kathy, and so many more, Mrs. Burr..... Wow there really are to many to name. But here are a few and i hope you all know how much you mean/have meant to me. You all have had such great examples throughout my life and even though you didn't know it YOU are the reason I am who I am today... (and that's a good thing. lol.) I love you all and thank you from the bottom of my heart!!
Now for the last but most important person I need to thank (or 2 rather). My heavenly father and Savior and brother Jesus Christ. There is too much to thank! Beyond the trivialities, for my life, my wonderful blessings, my family, my loved ones, the strength you have been for me at the hardest times of my life, for the unconditional love you have for not only me but for everyone, for the beautiful atonement.. Without it I certainly wouldn't be where I am. To do and be the person you were, my brother, is definitely the most selfless thing anybody has ever done. And I am so grateful for you and your sacrifice! For us! For the knowledge that we know. For not giving up on your children when I'm sure at times it would be so easy to forget about us because of our behavior. I know that everything I have learned throughout my years about the Church is true and real. I know that Jesus is our savior and without him we would have no eternity in a place of bliss and happiness. I know beyond a doubt that both our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love each and every one of us unconditionally. They are always there to turn to no matter what we've done. Repentance is hard but well worth it. The blessings of the outcome are and will be well worth it. I know that it doesn't matter who we are or think we are here on earth we ARE children of our Heavenly Father. And we ALWAYS will be. And I am so grateful to know this-ALL of this. I only wish everyone knew it too cause it is an amazing feeling that just envelopes you all the time but especially when you feel down or lonely!!
I'm sure I've missed a lot of people so Thank you to Everyone!!!!

Weekend Fun
(This is also going to be a long post that is full of pictures!!!) Friday night after Mike got off work we headed up to Aurora to stay with my parents before heading up Saturday morning for the zoo with Chase, Nancy, and Hagen. If you want to know more about the history on that you can look at Nancy's blog she kinda summed it up.... ) We had a fun time at the zoo but not as fun as the kids. Here are some pics of the zoo adventure.

This is Mike pulling Brooke back up a hill so they could go down again..... The following is a picture of them going down the hill (Mike admits he's not a day over 3 at heart....lol)

Brooke thought it would be fun to pull her dad around in the wagon. It was quite interesting trying to go down a little hill. A lot of people had a good smile just watching!

I can't tell whether he looks like he's laughing or crying in the picture, but he really was laughing!
After the zoo we went shopping a bit at the Gateway Mall and to dinner at the Myan! As Nancy said Brooke was a little weary when were walking to our table. We explained that it's like a jungle and she seemed good with that thought it was kinda cool until the "thunder" started. (She hates thunder... but for some reason it was worse that night). She liked watching the divers until it came to the part where there was a guy with a gobling mask on and she flipped. She had to sit on my lap and only peek through her fingers. I had a hard time putting her in her seat after he left. She was beyond ready to leave by the time our food got there. But she did have fun! Then afterwards we went back to the hotel ready to go swimming only to find it was outdoors and they had shut it down for the season. However we did get some hot tub time in!!! The kids had fun climing in and out and playing a little. Here are some pics of that.

Then Sunday we went shopping at Cabelas and Provo Mall before heading back towards home. Needless to say Brooke was completely warn out and fell asleep at 7:45 and slept the whole night (didn't even wake up at her usual spot in the road before getting home)It was quite a peaceful trip home!!!!
Thank you to Nancy and Chase for driving us (even though you tried to kill us Chase we forgive you... j/k) And thank you for going with and putting up with us ( I know we can be a handful!! lol) We had lots of fun and it was definately nice to get away!

New
There isn't much new to report. Brooke keeps getting bigger and smarter. She still cracks us up on a daily basis. She loves to change clothes about 5 times a day including into her dress ups. She's getting to the point she really wants some one to play with. (Yes I know bout time I had another one..... not yet) Part has to do with not having kids to play with during the day (she's with Grandpa during the day) Mike still works a lot. He always has friends wanting him to help him with something they're doing.
I decided I'd do a little update on the rest of my fam. Nolan (8) was just baptized in August. He's been running the mile and his fastes time is 8:01. Skyler (9) he'll be 10 next month which means only 2 years away from becoming a deacon (which is weird to think about). He's been running the mile as well and his fastest time is 7:26. He'll be getting his bear badge in scouts. Amy (13) is growing up into a beautiful young woman. She's plays the saxophone in band. Sena (16) came in 9th out of 41 or 42 at Region CC and will be running the State Meet next Wednesday (YEAH SENA!!!!!) She is 1 of 3 going from N.S.! Jess (19) works at K-Mart now. She comes and goes a lot. Christian (21) is still in Nashville. He just recently went to Florida with some friends on vacation (I'm envious... he's seen the ocean...lol) Shilo and Ryan might actually be moving to Tennessee. Thety will be going out in a week I believe to check things out and look for a place to live. If they do decide for sure they will be moving the first of November to middle of November to my knowledge. Mom and Dad I guess is still the same ol'. Dad works and hikes when he can. Takes lots of pictures (which turn out awesome). Mom still crochets quite a bit. They've been married for 25 1/2 years!!! Woohoo them!
So that's it the update on us I guess.
