Another Fun Filled Camping Trip!

So I'm finally posting about last weekend. And I'll include pictures. It was a pretty fun weekend. All of Mike's family his immediate, 2 uncles and their families and his grandma go to Otter Creek every year for Father's Day weekend to camp. So Mike and I decided to go this year with them since we have this bigger trailer. We got off work early and left for Otter Creek about 3 PM I think. Most of his family was already up there so they directed us on which spot was ours and we set up. Everybody was just lingering, some had gone fishing in their boats. Mike and his little brother Willy took his raft and set up some crawdad traps on the west side shoreline just past the boat dock. Mike was having so much fun in his raft. I haven't ever seen him use it in the 5 years we've been together even though we have gone camping and fishing many times.
Saturday morning Mike talked me into going with him to check the traps ( I have a fear of deep water... I don't swim well) Anyway it was really fun I wasn't even scared (unlike the last time Mike took me in a little fisherman's boat and I mean very short but quite long almost like a canoe.... Anyway the boat barely had probably 6 inches before it was water and Mike, his friend and his friend's girlfriend were rocking the boat so badly. It was making me so mad cause they only did it for me. Brooke didn't like it much either. So needless to say I was a little worried) Anyway I went out on the raft a few times and we had bought Brooke a life jacket just for that reason so she went with us a few times too and loved it. Heck I thought she was going to go into the lake head first a few times. She loves to play in the water unless its a swimming pool or where she can't touch the bottom. She is so funny though to watch. We barely were able to keep her away from the water long enough to eat. But Mike's little cousins are amazing! They love to play with her and let her follow them and take her with wherever they go. And they keep a really good eye on her. I just love them! I don't have to worry about Brooke as much when she's with them.
Mike's family caught quite a few fish on their boats. Mike only fished once and didn't get anything, didn't like the wind blowing so much. I sunburned the crap out of my legs. Some people think I gave myself a 3rd degree burn. (I didn't put sunscreen on them cause I dont' usually burn on my legs... they don't do anything but stay as white!! I had pants on but rolled them up to go in the raft. Boy I won't ever not put sunscreen on again!!!
It was a nice relaxing weekend! Some played in the water, went boating, fishing, walks, games, and good food!!!

Kelsie, Brooke, and Shelby all playing in the water!!

Mike and his little brother Willy going out to check on the traps or to take them out.

Mike's nephew Nate with Mike working on making yet another crawdad trap.

Mike's other nephew Tyler. He had so much fun on Brooke's little 4-wheeler, he would run it 'til it the battery died!!

Brooke was so excited to have Angies, Jessie, and Heather (mike's cousins) there too. She made them all go on walks with her, they took her in their raft. But they love her to death so it was fun for them too!

Brooke was so tired Sunday it wasn't too long after we lef the RV park she fell asleep and slept the whole way home!!!

So i decided I would put this on. This is a picture of my sunburned legs. This is after they've had a few days to work on healing...

Adventure, Fun, and Devastation!!

So we went camping this weekend and had a lot of fun and then Sunday heading back we were hit with some devastation! We went for a couple 4 wheeler rides and hiked, seen the beautiful view of the valley where Parowan, Paragonah, and Summit all sit (the view expands for miles), made some really yummy food played games, Brooke hurt her arm when she fell out of her bed bunk Friday night, Mike and I both fell down the stairs when we went to go to her. I really fell (I went from the top to the bottom missing the two steps) he just kinda skid off the last step. I tried taking one of the controls with me and during the hike Mike cut himself on a piece of shell that he broke. Selena was the only one who didn't end up hurt during the whole trip. Bruzer (the Boston Terrier)cut his back paws on some broken glass up there (it was only small scrapes not really deep but he tried chewing off his foot on the one it was kinda hilarious) and Rusty (the blondish Red Hound/lab whatever she was) didn't make it back home with us yesterday.
On our way home Rusty was in the back of the truck (she's too big now to ride in the cab) She decided she was going to jump and Mike seen in the side mirror just in time (or we thought anyway) to swerve so we didn't run her over. Afterwards we were wondering if she did get run over afterall even though it didn't really look like it. At first she appeared fine she got up and walked off the road but when we went over to her she had broken her leg as well as her hip. And she looked so sad. I felt so bad. We had two options spend lots of money trying to fix her or put her out of her misery. And I literally mean misery. Mike and I both knew there was something wrong with her all this time but we weren't sure what. And not only did we not have the money to put her through more torture but there is a likely that she wouldn't survive it so we did the best option for her. I just told Mike I couldn't watch and went back to the truck. So he kindly did it. Afterwards I asked him how he could and he responded saying that you just have to close your eyes once you aim and hope that you hit the right spot. And then he felt sick. Poor man. But I am so grateful I have him. That is something that I can't do, it hurts too bad. I felt so horrible I just cried all the way to Parowan. (Which isn't too long our camp site was only 15 min from town and this happened just a few minutes from camp) Sena was crying and Brooke for some reason thinks when I cry I am mad. So she kept asking if I was mad and Mike and I had to keep explaining that Rusty had gone to heaven that she jumped out and died. (Trying to protect her from the shooting part or she'll start thinking its ok to shoot dogs) I know to some this may sound cruel but honestly it was the best thing for her. So our camping trip was ended with devastation, but I am grateful that Rusty was able to have such adventure before she went. She had so much fun running along with the 4 wheeler and riding it and hiking up and down the hill and just in general camping. But we sure will miss her!!! Her short time with our family has been so fun and Bruzer is already missing her. He's now seeing things outside and starts barking up a storm. Just the last few days he acts all vicious out of nowhere. Poor dog. But Mike is already planning on replacing Rusty for me we'll see how well that works. Anyway I hope you all had as much/more fun as us (just not the death part). I'll add pictures of Rusty and our camping trip.

I've Been Tagged.....

Here's how to play the game of tag. Post these rules on your blog: list 3 Joys, 3 Fears, 3 Goals, 3 Current Obsessions/Collections, 3 Random Surprising Fact About Me and then tag 5 others at the end of your blog by leaving their names.

3 Joys:
1- Brooke! I don't know where I'd be without her! She brings so many things to our little family!!! Life just wouldn't be the same.
2- Mike. He has been so good for me. He is head strong and helps lead our family. He is a very good man and a good husband!
3- Hard to choose just one more thing. But I'll go with the Mountains. I don't think I could live somewhere without my mountains! They are a part of who I am!

3 Fears:
1- Death of a close close loved one... I know you go on to a better place but of being alone or not being with my family scares me!!
2- Big spiders and bugs!!!! I hate them!! They creep me out and make me itch!!
3- Deep water, especially if I can't see the bottom.

3 Goals:
1- To be the best person, mother, and wife I can be!!
2- To get out of debt so I don't have to work as much and able to be at home more with Brookey.
3- Finish school and earn a degree in one of the many subjects I like

3 Current Obsessions/Collections:
1- At the moment reading. I love to read but lately I've been obssessed with reading so many different books
Otherwise I don't really have any obsessions and i don't really collect anything

3 Random Surprising Facts About Me:
1- I (myself) went through the temple the end of Nov '07. (Many probly already know)
2- I've always put everyone else before me and my own happiness.(might not be surprising but its a random fact..)
Apparently I'm having a brain fart because I cannot think of another one.

And I guess lastly I tag Jenna (Cousin.. Sorry I cannot remember your married name), Aunt Kris and whoever else would like to do this. It's kinda fun to think about!
