Happy Birthday!!

This is a little late, but here it is none the less. On Wednesday Brookelynn turned 5! Amazing to me, I have a five year old already. SHE is amazing to me! Brooke is soo smart, happy, full of energy even when she's tired, makes me laugh many times every day, aggravating, pushes my buttons (on purpose I think), tries too hard to be more grown up, beautiful, helpful, loves to play outside- help her dad- help with some yardwork- play with her uncles, aunts, and cousins- and go shopping. She is always on the go and definitely still keeps us on our toes. We love you so much!!!

So like normal, we did a bbq for her birthday, this year on her birthday. Wednesday morning we woke up and headed for home from my parents', since Mike has to work. Eventually all of my family, but Jess, arrived at our house and we had everything going along pretty smoothly. I was enjoying no stress. Then about 20 minutes to 6:00 I get a phone call from Mike. When I answered I was thinking great his dang bosses aren't letting him leave (they love to do that when we have things planned, things we need to do or go somewhere... just come by or call and say "well, we need this done and this done and this needs to be done.......etc." even after work hours are over).
He gave me a much bigger shock... My dog, Dusty, had fallen out of the bed of the truck and broken his leg, so Mike was trying to go see if the vet that lives in town happened to be home to look at Dusty. I was so sad, I was afraid we'd have to put him down. And I being so sensitive, cry over little things that can happen to people or animals. So I knew that was the thing to go wrong on Brooke's birthday (since something always does).
We were so glad to have all the help from my family. They did so much to help us out and we are so grateful! Since Mike was taking care of Dusty, my dad cooked for us, my mom and sister helped make sure everything was prepared and ready, my siblings kept Brooke entertained, my brother did whatever needed to be done. And Thank you to all that came and the birthday wishers, Brooke loved having so many there and to see everyone!!!

The only thing she ever said that she wanted, really wanted, was a mermaid fin. She was so dang excited to see she got one, but her Uncle Ryan (who's leg is in the picture) was teasing her saying it would fit him so he was going to wear it.

No I did not make this cake, unfortunately. We had it ordered just for Brooke and went with the all time favorite, cupcakes for everyone else. And yes I had another pregnancy moment and only put 3 candles instead of 5 on the cake. I didn't even think about it until I was taking them out.... Great mommy moment!!

Selena's Graduation

Well it has been a busy week for us, especially with Selena graduating. So I decided to try and have a lot of things done before Wednesday so hopefully it would be a nonstressful day and nothing would happen. Tuesday afternoon we head up to my dad and mom's and enjoy a bbq. We also sing to Jess, since it is her birthday as well. Here is a pic of Sena in her gown (yes, it is after graduation). I left my camera out in the truck, Amy's batteries died after a few pics and Shilo and Ryan's camera is crappy, so we were eventually left with Christian's phone camera which was better than Mike's. I was disappointed!

I just want to add how awesome she is!!! I know she is an example to everyone around her. She has always had her standards and values set and kept them there. She loves to help others, she LOVES candy AND food, she tries her best in everything she does, she loves to joke around, and she is beautiful inside and out!! I love my sister and so proud of who she is. Brooke absolutely loves her to pieces! She is even spoke willingly at her Seminary Graduation! And it was a great talk, I wasn't able to make it but she received compliments from so many people. She has an amazing spirit and we cannot wait for her to start school down here! We love you Sena and thank you for who you are and all you do!!!!

Lend a trailer, receive........

Saturday was the Scout Expo down here. Lloyd, Mike's dad, is in scout's, so he has to be there every year. Well most of the scout's will camp out in tents at the soccer field in Cedar. Well Lloyd took his trailer down there last year to camp out. Mike told them (being both his parents) they were trashy (their trailer is quite old and worn down). He told them to take our trailer next year so he wouldn't have to be embarrassed for them. So Lloyd did. Mike made him take our truck too. Well when we went down to their house to get our truck and trailer to bring home late Saturday afternoon we were given a surprise. And no it wasn't the good kind. This was our surprise....

I took these pictures Sunday afternoon, so the window was already covered. We came home to a bent window frame still covered with glass, but no window.

Lloyd tried to turn into a parking lot (obviously where he shouldn't have tried) and the trailer corner smacked into the cab of the truck squishing the window causing it to brake (all over Mike's nephew no less). Because it is now covered you cannot see the bent metal in the middle that held the windows together. Mike also had to reseal some of the trailer seams back together. There are some other minor scratches and such on the truck and the trailer. Needless to say Mike isn't letting them borrow either again!!! When we first got there and his dad came out to explain (of course we seen what happened first) the first thing Mike said was "what'd it do to the cab?" The reply, "It didn't do anything to the cab, just broke the window." I don't know why he said that or if he was more worried about the window. But you couldn't miss the damage done to the cab. Which I believe had Mike the most mad, that and the trailer. A window can be replaced, fixing a dent (without bondo) isn't easy. Anyway it was an accident we know, and the window is getting fixed, however, it's still very upsetting.

A Day on the Farm

Last Weekend, Mike was working on a guy's tractor, Brooke and I tagged along. The guy had brought his three boys over for awhile. Brooke loved playing with them again. They live on the farm with lots of hound dogs, sheep, horses and donkeys, and chickens and plenty of room to play. The oldest boy Riley wanted to take pictures and pictures with my camera when I got it out, so a few of them are from him or his brother Texy.

Spring

As I was out driving doing errands today, I was admiring the beauty everywhere like normal. But since I was by myself for a change I was more relaxed and calm and thoroughly enjoying myself. I was totally relishing in the landscapes! And I thought how excited I am that spring has finally come. We still have cooler days and some snow that won't stop coming every once in awhile, but maybe this will make the summer milder... I can only hope right. Anyway I am just loving how everything is green and trees are blooming, gaining leaves again. My favorite season is normally fall, but right now I am in love with spring and so glad it's come!!!
I just wanted to make comment on my thoughts today. And I will add I am so glad school is over!!!!! I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather!!
