Christmas

Well, our month of December was full. Brooke had a fun last day of school on the 17th. She also liked singing and doing a program. However due to the large number of students gone via illness and being a Kindergarten class etc. etc. (I will refrain from venting my frustrations on this subject) Brooke got sick that night. Again. (this being the 3rd time since Thanksgiving) Then she gave it to Kenna and then due to my lack of sleep and sick kids I was so lucky to get it as well and then of course Mike did too.
With Brooke we knew it wouldn't last and tried to keep her away from McKenna. But I had to take McKenna to the dr. on Tuesday because her cough had become horrible. And they ended up testing her for rsv and influenza. Sadly my baby had influenza. And she was the youngest they had seen thus far. Yay for us.... Well we got a prescription for the nebulizer we have (from Brooke getting rsv when she was 8 months old), told to go back the next day to check her oxygen level again and to watch her closely, if it got worse then go the er or any questions not to hesitate to call. Well she got better to then turn around and get a cold so her vaccinations have been put on hold. I miraculously was able to get over it pretty fast.
Mike though did not. He got it hard on Christmas Eve and was sick in bed all weekend. We had a pretty dull Christmas quarantined at home. Mike had a pounding head so we tried to be quiet and I had the great privledge of doing Christmas all by myself with a 4 1/2 month old who doesn't like to sleep well at times.
We had such a different Christmas this year. It was all bad or miserable (though don't ask Mike) but I sure didn't feel the spirit as strong nor did it really feel like Christmas to me. Not to mention we didn't have any snow. It hadn't snowed since November all we had been getting was rain. Yes I said rain in December! I was pretty gloomy.
But other than Mike's cough, and Kenna still having some congestion and a little bit of a cough we are all back to our normal healthy selves. We hope everyone else had a wonderful Christmas with love and family and remembering the Christ child.
