So I just have to hurry and post this. Whether anyone else finds it as humorous as we did, is for them to decide. I want to document it though, not because this is her first time, it was just the best time. Brooke was saying the family prayer tonight, which she does often but she also says the dinner prayer most of the time. So she starts the prayer off, and sadly no I didn't quite hear up to the point where it became funny, I was holding McKenna, trying to keep her from bouncing off my lap and playing as much as possible.
So Brooke suddenly asks to bless the food. (Yes it has happened before and probably definitely not the last) This time however, she saves herself and after a slight pause says "for people eating......... somewhere". It really was nice thought. I think it was mostly the way she said it that made it so funny. I had already been trying not to laugh about Kenna, I had to try harder not to laugh when she said that. However, Mike laughed out loud and I lost it. I tried to recover for Brooke's sake until I heard her laughing too. It was all I could do just to breathe for a few minutes. Needless to say we had to start the prayer over.
But it really is a nice thought. I've heard lots of personal stories lately of things to keep me towards humility. So maybe I will remember that for future prayers. Anyway it was a good family laugh for us, although I think McKenna was lost on what was happening she took the distraction to search for more toys and crayons to eat. Lol! Thank you Brooke!
